More about Dave

David Matthew Olson (f.k.a. “Daveo Mathias”) is/was a creative, writer, director, comedian, artist, rapper, marketing professional, producer (both films & fire beats), designer (graphic, set, fashion, etc.), agent provocateur, and American refugee, currently creating things in Stockholm, Sweden.

He started doing comedy as a high schooler sneaking into L.A. bar shows and making semi-viral comedy videos in the early days of YouTube, but then became disillusioned with his wide-eyed Hollywood dreams shortly after finishing college and moved to Sweden.

Dr. Olson (honorary degree, School of Hard Knocks) was classically trained in the dark arts of Marketing & Media Management at Handelshögskolan (Stockholm School of Economics), where he received a Master’s degree before putting his secret Illuminati business knowledge to work as a creative, copywriter, and marketing professional.

During this time (which scholars refer to as “the Blue Period”), he also launched his own fake luxury fashion brand / conceptual art project, “future garbage by FUTURE GARBAGE.”

In 2020, he wrote, directed, and self-produced “DIRTY MACHINES: The End of History,” the acclaimed sci-fi short film for his intellectual property about time travel, which became a Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week selection with over 650,000 views.

His next DIRTY MACHINES film, “A Brief History of Time Travel," was also recognized as a Vimeo Staff Pick and universally acclaimed - despite being created as a COVID-era “pitch video” for some very important Hollywood figures who took interest in the project and offered lots & lots of money to buy it but Dave was like “Nah, I ain’t selling out” and still retains full creative control of the visionary intellectual property.

David’s work has been featured in AdWeek, AdAge, Huffington Post, Boooooooom, The Drum, Vulture, Fashionista, WorldStarHipHop, and probably a lot of other websites.

He is open to exchanging his goods and services for cold, hard cash at any opportunity, whether legal or otherwise.

David Matthew Olson paid someone in a third-world country a fair-trade wage to write this third-person website bio about him.
